| Term | Definition |

| Axial Skeleton | The part of the skeleton that includes the skull, vertebral column, and rib cage, providing central support for the body |
| Appendicular Skeleton | The portion of the skeleton that includes the limbs and the girdles that attach them to the axial skeleton |
| Skeletal Muscle | A type of muscle tissue attached to bones that facilitates voluntary movements of the body |
| Flexion | A bending movement that decreases the angle between two body parts |
| Extension | A straightening movement that increases the angle between body parts |
| Abduction | The movement of a body part away from the midline of the body |
| Adduction | The movement of a body part toward the midline of the body |
| Origin (Muscle) | The fixed attachment point where a muscle’s tendon connects to a bone, typically proximal |
| Insertion (Muscle) | The movable attachment point where a muscle's tendon attaches to a bone |
| Antagonistic Muscles | Pairs of muscles that work in opposition to each other, such as the biceps and triceps |
