Categorii de țesuturi Vegetale si animale
Țesuturi embrionare (merismatice) Celule mici, rotunjite, cu pereți subțiri, fără spații; se divid permanent și sintetizează substanțe organice
Meristeme apicale Localizate în vâarfurile rădacinilor si tulpinilor; asigură creșterea în lungime
Meristeme intercalare Localizate deaspura nodurilor tulpinii, contribie la creșterea tulpinii unor graminee
Țesuturi definitive Provenite din țesuturi embrionare; celule specializate care nu se mai divid
Țesut de apărare (epiderma) Acoperă organele tinere; formată dintr-un strat de celule strâns unite
Stomate Structuri de frunze formate din două celule stomatice reinforme și un ostiol
Rizodermă Epiderma rădăcinii, cu perișori absorbanți
Țesut de depozitare Depozitează substanțe de rezervă (ex. amidon, care este o polizaharidă)
Țesut acvifer Depozitează apă la plantele din medii extreme (ex. deșert)
Țesut aerifer Depozitează aer la plantele acvatice
Țesut asimilator Se află in frunze și are rol in fotosinteză
Țesut conducător Transportă seva brută și elaborată
Vase lemnoase (trahee la angiosperme) Celule cilindrice, dispuse cap la cap fără citoplasmă, transportă seva brută
Vase liberiene Celule vii, transportă seva elaborată, formează fascicule
Țesut excretor Celule care elimină substanțe precum rășina, latexul și nectarul
