What is a covalent bond? When electrons are shared.
Where is DNA stored in a eukaryotic cell? The nucleus, mitochondria, and chloroplasts (in plant cells only).
What does the term amphiphilic mean and what is an example? Having both a hydrophobic and a hydrophilic end; phospholipids.
What are the 5 layers of the epidermis? (Answer from deepest to superficial). Stratum Basale, Stratum Spinosum, Stratum Granulosum, Stratum Lucidum (only in thicker skin), and Stratum Corneum.
What kind of epithelial tissue is found in the urinary system (i.e. bladder and urethra)? Transitional epithelial tissue
What are the 3 regions of the vertebral column and how many are in each region? Cervical vertebra (7), thoracic vertebra (12), lumbar vertebra (5)
Where are blood cells produced? RBCs, WBCs, and platelets are produced in the red bone marrow of bones.
