Name the 3 main layers of the skin dermis, epidermis and the hypodermis
what is the main role of the epidermis? to ensure that harmful things such as UV radiations, and pathogens do not get into the body and also moderate water loss from the body.
what are the components of the dermis? nerves, hair follicles, blood vessels, sebaceous glands, and the sweat glands
what role does the hypodermis play in the human body? acts as an insulator, holds the skin firmly to the internal body tissues and stores energy.
outline the five main functions of the skeletal system offers protection, ensures movement, gives the body the required support, production of cells and storage of minerals.
identify the main types of bones in the human body the irregular bone, the long bone, the short bone and the flat bone.
differentiate between the spongy and compact bones the spongy bone contains the red bone marrow and has the trabeculae while the compact bone is highly dense and strong
in adults, what bone has the red bone marrow flat bones like ribs and pelvis and the long bones such as humerus and femur
Define osteoblasts cells that are responsible of bone formation
what is the function of osteoclasts> remodeling of bones
what is the main faction of red bone marrow > formation of blood cells through hematopoiesis process
what is the importance of yellow bone marrow? stores fats that can be changed to red blood cells incase there is a need.
