Transverse Plane Straight through the middle (cuts through superior and inferior)
Anterior Front; in front of
Epidermis Outermost layer, provides waterproof barrier
PH "The power of hydrogen," a numerical scale of 0-14 (0-6=acidic, 7=neutral, 8-14=alkaline)
Sagital Plane Mid-line (left and right sections)
Dermis Contains connective tissue, hair follicles, and sweat glands
Coronal Plane Perpendicular to sagital plane (front and back sections)
H+ ions decrease pH goes up and the solution becomes more alkaline
Hypodermis Has protective functions, tough connective tissue, adipose tissue, fat, and insulator
H+ ions increase pH goes down and the solution becomes more acidic
pH of 8-14 Less hydrogen ions and more hydroxide ions
pH of 0-6 More hydrogen ions and less hydroxide ions
pH of 7 Hydrogen ions and Hydroxide ions are equal
