muscles

TermDefinition
Skeletal Muscles is a highly organized tissue composed of bundles of muscle fibers encased in connective tissue, with each fiber containing myofibrils made up of repeating sarcomeres, which are the fundamental contractile units.
Smooth muscle consists of spindle-shaped, nonstriated cells with a single centrally located nucleus, dense bodies for actin attachment, and a network of intermediate filaments that support contraction and cellular integrity.
trapezius muscle large, superficial muscle at the back of the neck and the upper part of the thorax, or chest. The right and left trapezius together form a trapezium, an irregular four-sided figure.
Orbicularis Oris Muscle is a paired facial muscle that surrounds each orbit and the adjacent periorbital region.
frontalis muscle is located on the forehead and is primarily responsible for raising the eyebrows and wrinkling the forehead, playing a key role in facial expressions.
Corrugator supercilii is a paired muscle found deep to the medial end of each eyebrow. Upon contraction, these muscles draw the two eyebrows together medially and inferiorly, thereby producing vertical wrinkles over the glabella and an expression of frowning.
deltoid muscle is the thick, triangular shoulder muscle responsible for arm abduction, flexion, extension, and rotation, playing a key role in shoulder movement and stability.
frontal muscle is located in the forehead, covering the frontal bone of the skull, and is a key muscle involved in raising the eyebrows and wrinkling the forehead.
sternocleidomastoid muscle is a key neck muscle responsible for head rotation and flexion, originating from the sternum and clavicle and inserting at the mastoid process of the skull.
buccinator muscle is a thin, quadrilateral facial muscle located in the cheek, playing a crucial role in mastication and facial expressions.
