Deltoid – Function Abducts the arm; assists in flexion, extension, and rotation of the humerus.
Deltoid – Attachments Origin: Clavicle, acromion, and spine of scapula Insertion: Deltoid tuberosity of humerus
Biceps brachii – Function Flexes the elbow and supinates the forearm.
Biceps brachii – Attachments Origin: Coracoid process and supraglenoid tubercle of scapula Insertion: Radial tuberosity
Triceps brachii – Function Extends the forearm at the elbow.
Triceps brachii – Attachments Origin: Infraglenoid tubercle of scapula and posterior humerus Insertion: Olecranon process of ulna
Brachialis – Function Flexes the forearm at the elbow (primary flexor).
Brachialis – Attachments Origin: Anterior surface of humerus Insertion: Coronoid process of ulna
Brachioradialis – Function Flexes the forearm at the elbow (especially when the forearm is halfway between pronation and supination).
Brachioradialis – Attachments Origin: Lateral supracondylar ridge of humerus Insertion: Styloid process of radius
