What is diffusion? Diffusion is the net movement of molecules from a region of higher concentration, to a region of lower concentration
Which tissue is most likely to form a keloid scar? Connective
Which type of connective tissue helps newborns maintain body temperature by producing heat? Brown Fat
What are the layers of the epidermis? (from most deep to superficial) Stratum basale Stratum spinosum Stratum granulosum Stratum lucideum Stratum corneum
What is osmosis? it's the movement of water through a semipermeable membrane, which prevents the passage of at least one solute
Catabolism breaks large molecules into smaller ones; usually releases energy
Golgi apparatus Membranous organelle consisting of cisternae stacked on one another and located near the nucleus Processes protein molecules from the ER Processed proteins leave the final cisterna in a vesicle; contents may then be secreted outside the cell
Peroxisomes Small membranous sacs containing enzymes that detoxify harmful substances that enter the cells Often seen in kidney and liver cells
What are the three types of direct cell connections? Desmosome Gap junctions Tight junctions
What are the 4 types of lipids? Triglycerides or fats Phospholipids Steroids Prostaglandins (PGs)
Which type of feedback amplifies a change in the body? Positive Feedback

With continued vomiting, what happens to your body in regards to pH? A decrease in acid content in the body could possibly lead to alkalosis, becoming to basic.
