Which feedback mechanism restores conditions to normal after a change occurs? Negative feedback mechanism.
In anatomical terminology, what does the term superior mean? Toward the head or upper part of the body.
What structure separates the thoracic cavity from the abdominopelvic cavity? The diaphragm.
Which organelle is known as the “powerhouse” of the cell because it produces ATP? The mitochondrion.
What type of connective tissue connects bones to muscles? Tendons.
Which type of muscle tissue is involuntary and found in the walls of hollow organs? Smooth muscle tissue.
What is the main purpose of serous membranes in body cavities? They reduce friction between organs and cavity walls during movement.
