What are thethree planes that divide the body? The sagittal plane, coronal plane and traverse plane. Sagital plane: Divides body into the right and left Coronal plane: Divides the body into anterior and posterior transverse: Divides the body into the upper and lower
What includes the Dorsal Cavity? The cranial and spinal cavity
What is an Isotope? Atoms of same element with same number of protons but some number neutrons
What is an Iconic bond ? Chemical bond formed by transfer of electrons to another atom loss or gain electrons
what is catabolism? Chemical reactions that break down larger food molecules into smaller units and release energy
What is the pH scale? 0---> 14 acidic 0-6 neutral 7 alkaline 8-14
What is a blood cell? Oxygen transport and immune function
What is a ribosome? Cell proteins factories
What is a fluid mosaic model? the concept of cell membrane and shows how tightly bond they are
What is a melanocyte? they help with skin pigment and help fight against UV lights
What is a nerve cell? - Long branched cells that transmit signals -does not easily divide -can live for decades
Nervous tissue facilitates communication and contains glial cells -recieves stimuli
red blood cells -flexible replaced by bone marrow
