| 7. Adipose tissue | Fat tissue; stores energy and cushions the body. |
| 8. Cartilage | Flexible tissue that cushions joints. |
| 9. Bone tissue | Hard tissue that supports the body. |
| 10. Blood | Connective tissue that carries oxygen and nutrients. |
| 11. Dermis | The inner layer of skin; contains blood vessels and nerves. |
| 12. Epidermis | The outer layer of skin; protects the body. |
| 13. Hypodermis | The deepest layer of skin; mostly fat and connective tissue. |
| 14. Keratin | A protein in skin that makes it strong and waterproof. |
| 15. Melanin | Pigment in skin that gives color and protects from the sun. |
