Fibrocartilage Strongest, matrix rigid, strong white collagen fibers, can serve as a shock absorber in vertebrae
Elastic cartilage Lg amt of elastic fibers, high degree of flexibility, found in ear and larynx
Hematopoesis Process of blood tissue formation, RBC WBC PLATELETS
Smooth/visceral muscle tissue Lines the wall of hollow organs, stomach, intestines (nonstriated)
Cardiac muscle tissue Makes up walls of the heart
Skeletal striated muscle tissue Attaches to bones ,
Neuron soma Soma is the body, contains axon and dendrites
Axon Transmit nerve impulses away
Dendrites Carry nerve signals to axon
Schwann cells Insulates axon to increase speed of conduction
Astrocytes Help regulate neuron function, protects against toxins
