Synthesize combine parts or produce
Idiom phrases or expressions whose intended meaning is different from their literal meaning. Example. "A dime a dozen"
Parallelism is the repetition of grammatical elements in writing and speaking. For example: "no pain, no gain"
Euphemism designed to replace phrasing that would otherwise be considered harsh, impolite, or unpleasant. For example..."she passed away instead of, she died"
Shifts in poems occur when the writer's tone or focus changes. Shifts help keep a reader interested in a text and can enhance the clarity of ideas
