Amputation Removal of a limb or body part.
Appendectomy Surgical removal of the appendix.
Coronary artery bypass Creates new blood flow around blocked heart arteries.
Free skin graft Moves skin from one placed to another to cover a wound or burn.
Tonsillectomy Surgical removal of the tonsils.
DIsease pathology The scientific study of diseases
Aneurysm Bulging of a weak blood vessel.
Arthritis Joint inflammation and pain.
Bronchitis Inflammation of the bronchial tubes.
Rhinovirus Virus that causes the common cold.
Skin cancer Uncontrolled growth of abnormal skin cells.
General condition A broad term describing a person’s overall health or physical state.
Abrasion A superficial wound or scrape on the skin.
Contusion A bruise caused by damage to small blood vessels under the skin.
Edema Swelling caused by excess fluid in body tissues.
Fracture A break, crack, or splinter in a bone.
Hypertension/Thrombosis H: High blood pressure. T: Blood clot in a vessel.
Sepsis Life-threatening response to infection that spreads through the blood
Diagnostic procedures Tests used to identify a disease or condition.
Biopsy Removal of tissue for lab testing.
Computed Tomography (CT) scan Detailed body images using X-rays and computers.
Toxicology screen Test for drugs or toxins in the body.
Ultrasound Uses sound waves to create images of organs.
Venipuncture Drawing blood from a vein.
Treatment Methods used to manage or cure disease.
Chemotherapy Drugs that kill cancer cells.
Dyalisis Filters waste from the blood when kidneys fail.
