What are the similarities and differences between the economic patterns of early European colonies? The system was driven by mercantilism and most colonies relied on trade with Europe. The Northern colonies had access to Forestry and Fisheries while the Southern colonies had farmland to farm and trade.
What was the effect of the restrictions? C. The development of the free enterprise system.
How did opposition to mercantilism affect the economy in the colonies? They restricted economic growth. They increased dependence on Britain industries, leading to the development of a free enterprise economy; reducing trade barriers and allowing supply and demand to determine the market.
How has the geography of the United States influenced the location of economic activities in the United States? Shaping settlement patterns, resource restriction and transportation networks. The particular geography of a region contains different natural resources, some regions have access to ports and trade routes; effecting which economic activities can succeed.
