Fortnight (noun) – A period of 14 days; 2 weeks.
Hooligan (noun) – A young ruffian; gangster; troublemaker.
Queue (noun) – A line of people or vehicles waiting for something.
Altruistic (adjective) – Showing unselfish concern for the welfare of others.
Veritable (adjective) – Real, true, authentic, or actual.
Conscientious (adjective) – Wishing to do what is right, especially to do one’s work or duty well and thoroughly.
Sanctity (noun) – The state of being holy, sacred, or of ultimate importance.
Famished (adjective) – Extremely hungry.
Elude (verb) – To escape from or avoid, especially in a skillful or clever way.
Imprudent (adjective) – Not showing care for the consequences of an action; rash.
Untenable (adjective) – Not able to be defended or maintained.
Manacled (adjective/verb) – Bound or restrained, especially with handcuffs.
Defiance (noun) – Open resistance or bold disobedience.
Lament (verb/noun) – To express grief, sorrow, or regret.
Emaciated (adjective) – Abnormally thin or weak, often from lack of food.
Crucible (noun)- A severe test, trial, or challenging situation; A ceramic or metal container in which metals or other substances may be melted or subjected to very high temperatures.
Poignant (adjective) – Evoking a strong sense of sadness or regret.
Spectacle (noun) – A visually striking display or performance.
Transcend (verb) – To rise above or go beyond the limits of something.
Tumult (noun) – A loud, confused noise or disorderly commotion.
