Anatomy Week 6

QuestionAnswer
What is anatomy? The study of the structure of body parts and their relationships to each other.
What is physiology? The study of how the parts of the body work and function together.
What is homeostasis? The body’s ability to maintain a stable internal environment despite external changes.
What are the four main tissue types in the body? Epithelial, connective, muscle, and nervous tissue.
Which system provides structure, protection, and movement for the body? The skeletal system.
What is the smallest structural and functional unit of life? The cell.
What is the anatomical position? Standing upright, facing forward, arms at sides, and palms facing forward.
Which plane divides the body into left and right sections? The sagittal plane.
Which body cavities are found in the dorsal body cavity? Cranial and spinal cavities.
What is the function of mitochondria? To produce energy (ATP) for the cell through cellular respiration.
