| Modem | Stands for Modulator-Demodulator; it transfers digital information over telephone lines. |
| Web Browser | A software program that helps the user in opening and displaying different web pages. |
| ISP | Stands for Internet Service Provider; it is a company that provides Internet access on payment of a monthly fee. |
| WiFi | A popular wireless networking technology to provide wireless high-speed Internet and network connections. |
| URL | Stands for Uniform Resource Locator; it is the address of a website. |
| NetSurfing | A commonly used term that means using the Internet through an application called a web browser. |
| WWW | The largest collection of information in the form of websites on the Internet, which can be a combination of text, graphics, audios, and videos. |
| Online | When the user works on a system with an Internet connection. |
| Offline | When the user works on a system without an Internet connection. |
| Website | A collection of related web pages. |
| Webpage | Digital pages containing information about a website. |
| HomePage | The main page of a website, containing its main information and providing links to other pages. |
| Hyperlink | A link on a text or an image which, on clicking, takes the user to another location or webpage. |
| MicrosoftEdge | A popular web browser available on almost every computer, as it comes with all-new editions of Windows. |
| CurrentTab | In Microsoft Edge, the light grey tab that shows the web page you currently have open. |
| BackButton | In a web browser, helps you navigate back to your previous page. |
| ForwardButton | In a web browser, allows you to move forward again, if necessary, to a page you navigated back from. |
| NewTabButton | In Microsoft Edge, located next to the Current tab and used to open a new tab. |
| RefreshButton | In a web browser, reloads your current page (shortcut key is F5). |
| Favorites | In Microsoft Edge, the star icon that allows you to set a web page as a favorite or add it to your reading list. |
| Copilot | An AI-driven feature in Microsoft Edge that provides appropriate assistance and enhances browsing experiences. |
| Settings and More | In Microsoft Edge, where you’ll find all extra features, such as New InPrivate window, Zoom, Print and additional settings. |
| Address Bar | A very important part of any web browser where the website address or URL is typed. |
| Search Engine | A software that searches various web pages on the World Wide Web for a particular information. |
| Keyword | A word or phrase entered by the user into a search engine, related to the information they want to search for. |
