Constitutional Democracy The governemtn has to folllow a consitiution
Repersentitive Democracy Citizens of a country elect people to represent their needs in the governenment
Legislative Branch "Congress" makes laws Can impezch the president
Execituve branch President/ vice president can cancel laws Decides goals for country
Judical Branch Sumpreme court study constituion to decide if laws are constitutional or unconstitiuional (good or bad) Can cancel law if they don't agree
Presidential Veto When the president rejects a law from passing
Judical Review The supreme court votes if laws are consititutional or unconstitiuional. cancel or change any laws
Tyranny Cruel or unfair rule by a person or of a government that has total control
Limited Government Government powers are restricted by the law prevents tyranny
Seperation of the Goverment Diffrent parts of the government has diffrent jobs and work together to accomplish a easy task given from the government/ president
Checks and Balances Power split between deifrent parts of the goverment so that one person(president) isnt to powerful
Popular Soveignty "We the people..." the start of the constitution. People are loyal to government and tats how the goverment gets their power.
Federlism Power divided between national and local governments to deal with smaller issues when nessecery
Strict constitution Govern accortding the the original intent of the framers interpreting of the consition exaclty as it was written
Loose constituion More flexible interpreitation of the constitiution. Factor in how times changed sicne 1790s(when it was written)
Article ll Part of consition that outlines the amount of power the president has
Imperial precidency President extends their power past its limits usally ends up with consequences
Take care Clause president ensures the laws are faifthfully executed helps decide how certin laws should be executed
