What are ribosomes? They are small particles assembled from two tiny subunits of tRNA and protein. Site of protein synthesis
What are merocrone glands? These glands discharge their secretion product directly through the cell or plasma membrane
What is hyaline cartilage? It is a shiny and translucent cartilage that is found in the support rings of the respiratoy tubes and covering the ends of bones that articulate the joints.
Connective tissue functions to support the body and its parts, connect and hold them together, transport substances through the body, and protect it from foreign invaders
Nervous tissue functions to support the body and its parts, connect and hold them together, transport substances through the body, and protect it from foreign invaders
Melanocytes contribute colored pigments to the skin and serve to decrease the amount of ultraviolet (UV) light that can penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin
Radiation Flow of heat waves away from the blood and skin
Conduction Transfer of heat energy to the skin and then to cooler external environment
Convection Transfer of heat energy to cooler air that is continually flowing away from the skin
Evaporation Absorption of heat from blood and skin by water vaporization
Lanugo developing fetus covered by an extremely fine and soft hair coat and that is mostly lost before birth.
