acids and bases
| Term | Definition |

| corrosive | a material capable of dameing or destroying other substances on contact via a chemical reaction |
| litmus | litmus is an example of a chemical that is an acid- base indicator |
| ph scale | the ph scale is used to tell us how acidic or basic substance is |
| universal indicator | changes colour depending on the ph of the solution to which it is added. |
| neutral | if there is no colour change we say the colour is neutral |
| acid | many people think that acids are dangerous. some acids are dangerous, bus others are harmless |
| base | a base is a chemical oppistie of an acids. like acids some bases can be dangerous and others harmfull |
