Alien Acts 4 Acts passed by the Federalists in the summer of 1798. Confirmed the Republicans' fears. 3 aimed at immigrants especially French+Irish who voted for the Republicans. President had the power to expel alien residents he suspected of subversive activities.
Sedition Act Made it a federal crime to engage in any conspiracy against the gov or to utter or print anything "false, scandalous and malicious" against the government. 25 mostly republican editors were indicated under the act, 10 convicted.
Washington's Domestic politics concern the dangers of political partisanship, which he believed would divide the nation and weaken the gov., burden of public debt and taxes which he urged the gov to manage sparingly while ensuring the ability to fund necessary expenses.

8th amendment Freedom from excessive bail and cruel and unusual punishmentss
9th amendment Other rights of the people (gov. can't just take away rights not written in the Constitution)
