articular cartilage covers ends of bone to protect and allow smooth gliding surface
foramen tunnel or hole for blood vessels and/or nerves
fossa a shallow depression
condyle smooth, rounded articular process; knuckle like projection

crest a prominent ridge
sinus chamber within a bone normally filled with air
spine a long sharp edge/projection
cartilage type of flexible connective tissue

pelvic girdle lower limbs offering stability for lower limbs and is more strong to uphold upper body weight
