| Chromatin | Hereditary material in a cell's nucleus |
| Chromosome | Threadlike strands of DNA and protein in a cell nucleus that carry the code for the cell characteristics of an organism. |
| Cytoplasm | Fluid that holds the cell's organells |
| Organelle | Parts of a cell that have a function |
| Endoplasmic Reticulum | A cell organelle consisting of folding membranes that moves materials around within the cell. |
| Ribosome | Site of protein |
| Golgi bodies | Cell organelles consisting of stacks of membrane-covered sacs that package and move proteins to the outside of the cell. |
| Mitochondria | Creates energy for the cell |
| Lysosome | A cytoplasmic organelle that contains chemicals and digests wastes and worn out cell parts. |
