What happens during the “Top of the Hour”? Put Automation in Manual Mode Legal: Station ID: WTSR Trenton (Will play automatically). News Closer News: News (In Order) Local, National, PSA, Sports, Time and Temp Logs: Fill out time aired and Item Number Columns, Fill out as it happens
How do we make sure we sound as good as possible on air?
Levels: “Flirting With the Red”, Make sure you are not OVERMODULATING
Monitoring: WEAR HEADPHONES (when on mic) to make sure we sound good and are actually coming through the board
Mic Etiquette: Stay 2-3 Inches away from the Mic. Don’t move the mic while it is on. Could break, and you will hear the movement
Do's of talking on air Read Calendars (Campus, Community, Concert), Talk about the music
Don'ts No Editorializing (Stating opinion as fact), Don’t Curse, Don’t Say where you got the weather from, No Prices, Don’t Talk about random crap, No unnecessary noises
Top of the Hour is done and your music is playing. What should you be doing? Filling out spinitron and logs and incident report if necessary
How much of each type of song do you have to play? High: 5 Lows: 2 Local: 1 Backwall: 3 or more Open: 1 per show Only play ONE Song by an artist per show.πº…
The phone rings during your show. What do you do? ANSWER IT! (If batphone, say batphone) “WTSR Trenton 91.3 My name is BLANK how can I help you?” If they’re going on the air tell them: No Profanity, don’t editorialize, dont say prices
An EAS alert happens during your show. What do you do? Just let it play. Mark it in the incident report (EAS Log)
The power goes out during your show. What should you do? Turn everything off. Smallest to Largest
The fire alarm goes off during your show. What should you do? IF Make sure music is left on automatic Log in incident report Leave Kendall Hall Contact EBoard member Wait outside until you are allowed to come back in IF NOT Leave Kendall Hall Contact Eboard
