Balancing shampoo also known as neutralizing shampoo; shampoo designed to wash away excess oiliness while preventing the hair from drying out
Chemical Draping used for chemical services or treatments, such as hair coloring, permanent wave, or chemical hair relaxing
Clarifying shampoo is an alkaline shampoo containing an active chelating agent that binds to metals (such as iron and copper), formulated with a pH of 7 or higher. It removes excess oils, product buildup, and residual minerals that cling to the hair
Color-enhancing shampoo shampoo created by combining the surfactant base with direct-dye color pigments that help to extend the vibrancy of the haircolor while adding hydration for hue intensity
Conditioners A special chemical agent applied to the hair to deposit protein or moisturizer to help restore hair strength, infuse moisture, give hair body, or protect hair against possible breakage
Conditioning shampoo also known as moisturizing shampoo; shampoo that makes the hair appear smooth and shiny and improves its manageability
Deep-conditioning treatment also known as hair mask or conditioning pack; chemical mixture of concentrated protein and intensive moisturizer that penetrate the cuticle layer
Deionized water water that has had impurities (such as calcium, magnesium, and other metal ions that would make a product unstable) removed
Dry shampoo also known as powder shampoo; shampoo that cleanses the hair without soap and water

Humectants substances that absorb moisture or promote moisture retention
Malassezia fungus that causes visibly shed skin cells. or dandruff, that can sit on the scalp and create dryness. itchiness and discomfort
Medicated scalp lotion conditioner that promotes scalp healing
Medicated shampoo shampoo containing special ingredients that are very effective in reducing dandruff or relieving other scalp conditions
Moisturizer a product formulated to add moisture to the hair or promote moisture retention
Neutralizing shampoo also known as balancing shampoo used for chemically processed or relaxed hair that rebalances the hair's pH level by neutralizing any alkali or unwanted residues
Nonstripping product that does not remove artificial color from the hair
Petrissage involves gentle pushing and kneading of the scalp with a combination of the palms, fingers, and thumbs of the hand to help soothe muscles; often used In a therapeutic massage to loosen dead skin cells from he scalp
pH-balanced shampoo shampoo that is balanced to the pH of skin and hair (4.5 to 5.5)
Scalp astringent lotion produced used to remove oil accumulation from the scalp; used aftera scalp treatment and befores tyling
Scalp conditioner product, usually in a cream base. oftens and improves scalp health
Shampoo draping also known as wet draping; used to protect clients during shampoo and staying or shampoo and haircutting serivce
Spray-on thermal protector product applied to hair before any thermal service to protect the hair from the harmful effects of blow drying, thermal irons, or electric rollers
Strengthening shampoo shampoo that contains various strengthening and nourishing ingredients to add strength to weak, damaged or brittle hair
Sulfate-free shampoos also called soap free shampoo; a shampoo formulated with little to no alkaline soap base
Surfactant also known as base detergent cleaning or surface-active agents used in a variety of products, including shampoo
