Dermis Location-beneth the epidermis function- strength, elastically, sensation, thermoregulation -has a papillary layer (loose connective tissue, dermal papillae -reticular layer DENSE IRREGULAR CONNECTIVE Tissue
Acellular made of tissue not cells
Golgi apparatus modifies , packages, and sorts proteins/lipids into vessels
Plasma membrane contains cholesterol (stability) and proteins (transport and receptors)
Cytoplasm gel like fluid around the cells surrounds organelles, site of many chemical reactions
Gap Junctions Location-lateral membranes between adjust cells looks like: tiny pores /tunnels function- allows passage of irons, nutrients, and signals between cells
Desmosomes Location lateral surface of epithelial cells looks like spot like adhesions, linked to intermediate filaments function - mechanical strength COMMON IN SKIN AND HEART MUSCLE
Fibrocartilage strongest type of cartilage
Neuron conducting unit of nerve tissue
Acetabulum location:lateral pelvic bone function: socket for femoral head ( hip joint) Looks like deep cup like depression
Intertbular groove location- proximal anterior humorous function- passage for bicep tendens looks like greater tubercle (lateral) lesser tubule
