Waves Waves are formed when the wind moves along the surface of water this causes the water to move in a circular motion which forms a wave shape this wavw then moves forward in the direction of the coast
Waves as they reach the coast As they reach shallow water they get higher narrower and start to lean forward eventually they break only then does water move up the shore
Swash This is the rush of water up the shore after the breaking of a wave
Backwash This is the return movement of water down the shore
Fetch of wave this is the distance of the wave from where its formed to where it breaks
Crest of wave highest point of the wave
