Frontal Bone Forehead bone.
Temporal Bone Left Sides of the skull near the ears on the left
Temporal Bone Right Sides of the skull near the ears on the right
Maxilla Upper jaw bone.
Mandible Lower jaw bone.
Zygomatic Bone Left Cheekbones on the left
Zygomatic Bone Right Cheekbones on the Right
Occipital Bone Back of the skull.
Parietal Bone Left Top and sides of the skull on the left
Parietal Bone Right Top and sides of the skull on the right
Sphenoid Bone behind the eyes; helps form the skull base.
Ethmoid Small bone between the eyes.
Lacrimal Left Small bones in the inner corner of the eyes on the left
Lacrimal Right Small bones in the inner corner of the eyes on the right
Nasal Left Bones that form the bridge of the nose on the left
Nasal Right Bones that form the bridge of the nose on the right
Manubrium Top part of the sternum connects to collarbones.
Body The main, flat middle section of the sternum that connects to the ribs.
Xyphoid Process Small bottom tip of the sternum
Radius Forearm bone on the thumb side.
Ulna Forearm bone on the pinky side.
Phalanges Finger and toe bones.
Hallux Big toe bone.
Pollux Thumb bone.
Scapula Shoulder blade.
Tibia Shin bone main lower leg bone.
Fibula Thin bone next to the tibia.
Ilium Upper, wide part of the hip.
Ischium Lower, back part you sit on.
Pubis Front part of the pelvis.
Patella Kneecap.
Humerus Upper arm bone.
True Ribs (1-7) Attach directly to the sternum.
False Ribs (8-10) Attach indirectly to the sternum.
Floating Ribs (11-12) Don’t attach to the sternum.
Cervical (C1-C7) neck bones
Thoracic (T1-T12) Upper back bones; attach to ribs.
Lumbar (L1-L5) Lower back bones.
Sacral (4 fused) Bones near the pelvis.
Coccyx (3-5 fused) Tailbone.
Carpals* Wrist bones.
Metacarpals Hand bones (between wrist and fingers).
Femur Thigh bone; largest bone.
Tarsals* Ankle bones.
Metatarsals Foot bones (between ankle and toes).
Clavicle Collarbone.
Fossa Shallow dip or hollow in a bone.
Fovea Small pit on a bone.
Foramen Hole for nerves or blood vessels.
Tubercle Small bump on a bone.
Tuberosity Large rough bump for muscle attachment.
Spinous Process Sharp bone projection on the spine.
Condyle Rounded ends of bones that form joints.
Malleolus Bony bump on each side of the ankle.
Trochanter Large bump on the femur for muscle attachment.
Sinus Air-filled space inside a bone.
Sulcus Groove or furrow on a bone.
Diaphysis Shaft or long part of a bone.
Epiphysis End part of a long bone.
