Abilify- Aripiprazole Drowsiness, weight gain, movement disorders(EPS), mood changes, high fever, muscle rigidity, confusion, new or worsening thoughts of self harm. Don't stop abruptly, NO alcohol Activating or sedating depending on person, lower risk of weight gain.
Seroquel- Quetiapine Drowsiness, weight gain, movement disorders(EPS), mood changes, high fever, muscle rigidity, confusion, new or worsening thoughts of self harm. Do not stop abruptly, NO Alcohol Very sedating, may cause weight gain, may cause orthostatic hypotension.
Cymbalta- Duloxetine May take several weeks to see full effect Do not stop abruptly - taper Nausea, Dry Mouth, Insomnia, Dizziness, Increased Blood Pressure
Effexor- Venlafaxine May take several weeks to see full effect Do not stop abruptly - taper Nausea, Dry Mouth, Insomnia, Dizziness, Increased Blood Pressure (Especially Effexor)
Lyrica (CV)- Pregabalin Dizziness, Drowsiness, Fatigue, Mood Changes, Rash Avoid Alcohol, Report Mood Changes, Take as Prescribed Used for Nerve Pain, Seizures, and Fibromyalgia, Sedating and causes Dizziness, and can cause euphoria or Dependance (CV)
Topamax- Topiramate Dizziness, Drowsiness, Fatigue, Mood Changes, Rash Avoid Alcohol, Report Mood Changes, Take as Prescribed Causes Dopamax (word finding diffuculty), Stay Hydrated (risk of kidney stones), May cause weight loss, can reduce the effects of birth control
Depakote- Divalproex sodium Dizziness, Drowsiness, Fatigue, Mood Changes, Rash Avoid Alcohol, Report Mood Changes, Take as Prescribed Take with food, Liver Toxicity Risk, Dont get pregnant, may cause weight gain, tremors, or hair thinning
Neurontin- Gabapentin Dizziness, Drowsiness, Fatigue, Mood Changes, Rash Avoid Alcohol, Report Mood Changes, Take as Prescribed Used for Nerve pain and seizures, Sedating, May cause swelling in hands/feet and blurred vision
Lamictal- Lamotrigine Dizziness, Drowsiness, Fatigue, Mood Changes, Rash Avoid Alcohol, Report Mood Changes, Take as Prescribed Risk of Serious Rash, Start low- go slow, birth control can reduce the effectiveness of Lamictal, may cause Vision Changes, Dizziness or Nausea
Keppra- Levetiracetam Dizziness, Drowsiness, Fatigue, Mood Changes, Rash Avoid Alcohol, Report Mood Changes, Take as Prescribed Irritability or Mood changes- common generally well tolerated otherwise
Dilantin- Phenytoin Dizziness, Drowsiness, Fatigue Mood Changes, Rash Avoid Alcohol, Report Mood Changes, Take as Prescribed Gum Overgrowth (gingival hyperplasia), NTI- requires blood monitoring, May cause Rash, Confusion, or Slurred Speech, Avoid antacids or calcium
