Stakeholders

TermDefinition
Stakeholder Individual or group that has an interest in an organization and can either affect or be affected by that organization
Internal stakeholder Individuals and parties within the organization
External stakeholder Do not work within a business, but are affected by its activities
Employee Work for a business in return for a wage or salary
Board of directors Governing body of a company, consisting of the most senior managers
Investors Provide capital in return for a dividend
Types of internal stakeholders Employer, shareholders, entrepreneur, BOD
Types of external stakeholders Interest groups, manufacturers, trade associations
Trade associations Represent businesses involved in similar types of activities
Stakeholder independencies The interconnected relationships among various groups
Stakeholder conflict A situation in which the interests or goals of different stakeholders in an organisation conflict with one another
