Loyalists Colonists who remained loyal to the King during the American Revolution.
Redcoats Nickname for British solders because of their red uniform coats.
Continental Congress The legislative assembly composed of delegates from the rebel colonies who met during and after the American Revolution.
Minutemen Colonist who could be ready to fight in a minute to fight the British.
Bosten Tea Party Bosten citizens disguised as Indians raided three British ships and dumped chests of tea in the harbor as a protest against taxes on sea
Stamped Act Tax that the British government placed on newspapers, books and documents sold on the colonies.
Bosten Massacre The killing of five men by British soldiers on March 15, 1770.
Paul Revere Rode on horseback from Bosten to Lexington and Concord to warn that the Redcoats were coming.
Treaty of Paris Provisional peace treaty by after Lord Cornwallis surrendered at Yorktown.
