Evaporation Substance from a liquid to a gas
Transpiration The release of water vapor by plants through leaves
Percipipitation Rain or snow
Condesation Changing from a gas to a liquid
Aquifer Layer of rock and soil that hold ground water
Groundwater Fresh water from underground
Law of conservation of matter Matter from one type to another
Nutrient Matter that organisms require
Biogeochemical cycle Nutrients circulate throughout the environment
Primary producer Organisms that are plants and algae
Phthosyenthies A organisms that make their own food
Consumer Organisms that eat other organisms
Decomposer Bacteria or fungi that break down wastes
Cellular respiration Use oxygen to release the chemical energy
Eutriohication The addition of phosphorus to bodies of water can lead to an overgrowth of producers (usually algae)
Nitrogen fixation Is the conversion of nitrogen gas into ammonia
