What does it mean to blockade a port and who did this stradgey? It means to prevent naval activity so no entering or exiting and this strategy was used by the union
Why did the confederates invade the north? What did they want to gain from it? They aimed north to gain crucial supplies, relieve pressure on the war torn south
Why did so many african Americans fight for the union in the war? They were hoping to gain freedom from slavery

Why did generals like Robert E Lee , Stonewall Jackson, JEB Stuart, And James Louis choose to fight for the south? How did it reflect what matted more to the people in the south? They are deeply rooted in the conflict
What was the primary job of soldiers before the war? Farmers, Labors, Clerks
Explain the emancipation proclamation and what it did? It declared slaves in rebellious confederates states to be freed
Why were there riots in NYC? Because the rich were able to buy out of the wars draft for $300
