TermDefinition
Triangle a two dimensional, 3 sided polygon with 3 angles and 3 vertices
scalene triangle a triangle that has 3 sides of different lengths and 3 angles of different measures
isosceles triangle two sides of equal length and two angles of equal measure
base angle an angle within a geometric figure that is adjacent with the figure's designated base
vertex angle the angle formed at the vertex, or corner, of where two or more lines meet
equilateral triangle three equal sides and three equal interior angles, each measuring 60 degrees
acute triangle An acute triangle has all three angles less than 90 degrees
obtuse triangle an obtuse triangle has one angle greater than 90 degrees
right triangle triangle with one angle equaling to 90 degrees
equiangular triangle a polygon where all of its interior angles are equal in measure
legs the two shortest sides of a triangle
hypotenuse the longest side of a triangle
interior angle an angle that lies on the inside of a shape
exterior angle an angle that lies on the outside of a shape
included side the side of a polygon that is positioned between two consecutive angles
included angle the angle formed at the vertex where two sides of a polygon (or two rays) meet
corresponding parts parts of geometric figures that are in the same relative position and have the same size and shape
