Natural law 3rd highest law, things like ethics, golden rule, facts about good and bad

City of god Heavenly place for those who are saved by god.
City of humans (earthly city) Filled with lust, self motivated, worried about self being. EVERYTHING IS PREDETERMINED
Religion purpose in medieval times Replacement for political philosophy
St. Augustine belief of people Everything is predetermined on earth, everyone is inherently sinful, god chooses who to save
St. Augustine belief of peace Peace is answer to everything, everyone benefits from peace
St. Augustine on politics Politics are self serving, wants a theocratic government, everything is predetermined so it doesn't really matter who is in power
Aquinas and Aristotle Aquinas studied when Aristotle's works were rediscovered, glazed tf out of him
Aquinas ideal gov. Monarchy because it is based after God, government should restrain sin
Aristotle middle class theory Government needs wide middle class to keep rich and poor in order -> still applies today
