| Nucleus | the central core of an atom |
| Molecule | a combination of 2 or more atoms |
| Compoud | a substance combining 2 or more different elements |
| Hydrocarbon | an organic compound combining hydrogen and carbon |
| Solution | a mixture in which all the ingredients are evenly mixed |
| Macromolecules | a large organic molecule, includes proteins, nucleic acids |
| Protein | an organic compound made of carbon, oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen and sometimes sulfur |
| Nucleic Acids | the macromeoecule that caries heredity information |
| Carbohydrates | an organic compound that consists of atoms of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen |
| Lipids | a chemically diverse compound that doesn't desolve in water |
| pH | a measure of acidity or alkalinity of a solution |
| Feedback loop | a circular process that describes how an event is both a cause and an effect in the same system, can be a positive feedback loop or a negative feedback loop. |
