| government | A system for making rules and decision |
| council | A decision-making body that could be made of a group’s single leader or a small group leaders |
| confederacy | A group whose members share the same goals |
| league | A confederacy |
| economy | The system by which a group makes, shares, and uses goods. |
| commodity | A trade good that is a raw material and not manufactured |
| trading network | Systems of trade routes that connects different areas |
| climate | The weather in a place over time |
| nomad | A person who moves from place to place |
| agriculture | The planting and raising of crops |
| technology | The use of scientific knowledge or tools to do work |
| irrigation | The use of technology to bring water to crops |
| civilization | A society where there are organized systems of government, religion, education and customs |
