Chapter 5 – The Education of Israel

Observance The act of following or adhering to a rule or custom. Keeping a law or practice.
Inheritance Property or rights passed down from one generation to another. A possession transmitted from ancestors.
Redeem To regain possession of something. To recover or buy back.
Remitted Canceled or forgiven. Released from an obligation.
Degradation The process of being brought to a lower state or condition. A lowering in rank or dignity.
Devotion Strong commitment or dedication. Zealous attachment; pious duty.
Cultivate To develop or improve. To prepare or improve.
