| Paul Revere | Known for the midnight ride, and the engraving showing the events of the Boston Massacre |
| Militia | Civilian soldiers who are willing to fight to protect their families |
| Minutemen | Soldiers who would be ready to fight in a minute |
| Continental Congress | Gathering of delegates who discussed the problems the colonies were having with England (Great Britain) |
| First Continental Congress | Discussed problems with Britain, cancelled trade with them, told the delegates to get their people ready for war |

| Unalienable Rights | Rights that cannot be taken away (life, liberty, pursuit of happiness) |
| British Parliament | Law making body of England that passed the Quartering Act, Sugar Act, Stamp Act, and all the other problematic laws that made the Colonists mad |
| Boston Massacre | In which British soldiers fired on colonists in Boston due to tensions, leading to the soldiers arrest and two being found guilty |
| Sons of Liberty | Group of Patriots who organized and inspired revolution in the colonies |

| Declaration of Independence | Document announcing that the colonies were officially free from British control |
