| Term | Definition |

| multiple | the number you get when you multiply a whole number by another whole number |
| greatest common factor (GCF) | the greatest nonzero whole number that is a factor of both numbers. |
| least common multiple (LCM) | the smallest whole number greater than zero that is a multiple of both numbers |
| prime factorization | the number written as a product of prime numbers. |
| reciprocal | the number obtained by inverting a fraction. |
| quotient | the answer you get after dividing one number by another. |
| divisor | the number of groups you are making or how many items go into each group |
| dividend | the total amount you are dividing |
| prime number | a whole number greater than one that can only be divided evenly by 1 and itself |
| composite number | a whole number that can be divided evenly by numbers other than just 1 and itself |
