Absolute Values the distance the number is from 0 on a number line
Additive inverse property the sum of any number
additive inverses 2 integers that are opposites. The sum of a integer and its additive inverse is 0
bar notation A way to represent decimals or digits
Distributive property The distributive property in mathematics states that multiplying a number by a sum or difference is the same as multiplying that number by each addend or subtrahend individually and then adding or subtracting the results.
Multiplicative Identity property when any number is multiplied by 1, the result is the original number.
Multiplicative inverses The multiplicative inverse of a number is another number that, when multiplied by the original number, yields 1 as the product.
multiplicative property of zero The multiplicative property of zero states that the product of any number and zero is always zero
opposites the opposite of a number
order of operations The order of operations in mathematics refers to a set of rules that dictate the sequence in which operations should be performed to correctly evaluate a mathematical expression
rational numbers A rational number is defined as any number that can be expressed as a fraction of two integers, where the numerator (top number) and denominator (bottom number) are integers, and the denominator is not zero.
repeating decimals A repeating decimal, also known as a recurring decimal, is a decimal number in which a digit or a group of digits after the decimal point repeats indefinitely.
terminating decimal a number with a finite number of digits after the decimal point
