| Scientific Method | A series of steps a Scientist uses to solve a problem |
| Problem or Purpose | Always stated as a question |
| Research | Gather information |
| Hypothesis | Educated guess or prediction |
| Experiment | Tests your hypothesis |
| Control | Standard for comparison |
| Independent Variable | The factor being tested |
| Dependent Variable | What is being measured |
| Constant Variables | The factors that remain the same for all setups |
| Observations | Obtained by using your 5 senses |
| Data | Obtained from your observations, could be written down in chart and graph |
| Analyze Data | Needed to get a conclusion |
| Conclusion | Answers the problem |
| Repeat | To confirm the experiment by doing it multiple times |
| Quantitative Analysis | Relating to numerical data, Ex: the desk was 10cm long, there are 10 students in this room |
| Qualitative Analysis | Relating to descriptions and the five senses, observations, Ex: the chair is brown, the sky is blue, the desk is hard |
