Method of science

TermDefinition
Criteria The gole you are trying to meet.
Constraint Limitations: money and time
Prototype Is a working model of the solution
Mean Average of your data: add the data and divide by the number of numbers in the set
Median Middle number when put in numerical order
Mode The data that Shows up more often
Range Difference between the largest and smallest data -subtracting the smallest from the largest.
Ethics
Quantity Uses a number to describe something
Qualitative Uses characteristics to describe things
Opinion Personal feelings that cannot be tested scientifically
Independent variable Factors that you change in an experiment
Depends variable Factors that you measure in an experiment
Niche Include an organism obtained its food, the type of food organism eats, and what other organisms eat.
Interaction Takes place among organisms every day
competition The struggle between organisms to survive as they use the same limited resources
Prediction An interaction in which one organism kills another for food or nutrients.
Symbiosis any relationship in which two species live closely together
Commensalism A relationship in which one species benefits, and the other species is neither helped or harmed
