Quantitative Uses numbers to describe something
Qualitative Uses characteristics to describe things
Opinions Personal feelings that cannot be tested scientifically
Independent variable Factor that you changes in an experiment
Dependent variable Factor that you measure in an experiment
Phase Different shape of the moon you say
Solar eclipse When the moon passes directly between the earth and the sun during a new moon
Lunar eclipse Occurs during a full moon when earth is directly between the moon and the sun
Umbra Darkest part of your shadow where light is completely blocked
Penumbra Area of a shadow where light is partially blocked
Tide Daily rise and fall of ocean water
Spring tide Higher high tides during full and new moons
Neap tide Lower and high tides during full first and third quarter moons
