Text Structures how information is arranged in a text; also known as organizational patterns
Description Uses adjectives and sensory details (sight, sound, smell, taste, touch) to paint a clear picture for the reader.
Text Features elements of a nonfiction text, like titles, headings, charts, images, captions, and indexes, that help readers find and understand the main content more easily by highlighting important information and organizing the text.
Sequential or Chronological information organized in order of time or in steps or stages.
Compare and Contrast text that shows how two or more things are alike and how they are different.
Problem and Solution presents an issue or problem followed by one or more potential solutions.
Cause and Effect explains why something happened and what happened as a result.
