| Linear Equation | A linear equation is an equation for a straight line. Linear means straight/follows a single path. |
| Substitution | To put in the place of another |
| Elimination | Add or subtract equations, numbers to get rid of a variable. |
| Slope | How steep a line is |
| Dependent Variable | The value that depends on what you put into the function. Also known as the output (what is the final number in the equation) |
| Independent Variable | The variable that changes in a problem also known as the the input (what are you putting into the equation.) |
| Rate | A measure comparing two different quantities, showing how much of one thing there is for a specific amount of another |
| Reccuring | Something that happens over and over again at a specific time, day or with a specific cost. |
| Initial | Something that happens at the beginning or end of something but it happens one time. |
| Input | he number or value that we start with in a function or operation. It’s the value we “put in” to get a result |
| Output | he result we get after applying a rule or operation to an input. It’s what “comes out” after we do the math. |
| Fee | Money that you owe because of a service that was done for you. |
| Y-Intercept | The point where a line or curve crosses the y-axis of a graph. |
