Down Bow Pull the bow down (or to the right)
Up Bow Push the bow up (or to the left)
Repeat Play the music inside the repeat signs again
Arco Play with the bow
Pizzicato Play by plucking the string with your finger
Measure The space between 2 barlines
Barline The vertical line that divides each measure.
Double Bar Line indicates the end of the music
Time signature two numbers that specify how many beats per measure, and what rhythm gets one beat.
Key signature Appears at the beginning of the staff and indicates which notes will be played sharp or flat
Bow speed How fast or slowly the bow moves across the string
Ledger line A short, horizontal line used to extend a staff either higher or lower
Dynamics Changes in volume
Forte Play loudly
Mezzo forte Medium loud
Piano Play softly
Mezzo Piano Medium Soft
