round to find a number that is close in value by finding the nearest ten, hundred or other place value
number line a straight line marked at equal spaces to show numbers in sequence (order)
place value the value assigned to a digit based on its position in a number
model an object or picture that represents a situation
nearest closest
about estimate - to find an answer close to the actual answer based on mathematical thinking
sum the answer to an addition problem
difference the answer to a subtraction problem
word form a form of numbers where the value of the digits are written in words (ex. two hundred twelve)
expanded form a form of numbers where the value of each digit is broken apart (ex. 500 + 20 + 7)
standard form the form of numbers that we use daily (575)
