| Term | Definition |

| Motion | A change in position of an object. /the action or process of being moved/moving. |
| Reference Point | A point used to describe location. |
| Distance | The space in between to objects. Does not use direction, scalar quantity. |
| Displacement | The shortest distance between the starting and ending point of an object. Does use direction, vector quantity |
| Vector | A measurement that includes both speed and direction. |
| Scalar | A quantity completely describe by a single numerical value, representing it’s magnitude without any associated direction. |
| Speed | The rate at which an object moves. How far something moves in a certain amount of time. |
| Average Speed | A total distance traveled by an object divided by the total time it takes to travel that distance. |
| Instantaneous Speed | The speed of an object in a certain point of time. A measurement of how fast that object is moving at that particular moment. |
